The resort is hosted by Robert and Ilke Lander who are dedicated to quality service. Originally from Northern Maine and Ghent, Belgium, the Lander family transplanted to Blairsville in 2002. Living onsite with their 3 children, the Lander family offer a small Inn-type personalized experience combined with the privacy and amenities associated with a mountain cabin rental. Truly a unique experience in the North Georgia Mountains.
After 10 years hosting the resort, once again, Robert and Ilke created a new addition to the resort. In Spring 2012, the Landers planted two vineyards on property, growing 4 varietals of grapes, Chardonnel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Traminette and Sangiovese. In 2013, they completed the full production micro-winery & cellar room; located alongside the Lodge.
To compliment these expansions, resort guests can sample and enjoy the fruits of their labor at the new tasting room in the Lodge. Wines from Paradise Hills Vineyards and other location vineyards are available.
It is not unlikely that on any given day, you will see either host in the Spa performing massage services (Ilke), in the winery bottling, in vineyard pruning and in the tasting room pouring. Just try to keep up…
Joining Paradise Hills after owning & selling her own small business in Blairsville, Michelle Berg will be one of the first faces you see when you visit. Always smiling, Michelle is at the lodge’s front desk to help make guests feel at home and accommodate requests.
Originally from Ohio, Michelle moved to Florida where she met her husband of 27 years, Bill. While in Florida, Michelle was involved in various aspects of golf course & country club management in addition to interior designing. Bill & Michelle fell in love with the Blue Ridge mountains and moved to Blairsville in 2004. Michelle loves the outdoors, playing golf, being around their friends, entertaining and she loves animals! If you need a golfer’s insight, she is the lady to ask.
Mother- Daughter team, Laura & Kali VanGorder are the heart behind the sparkling clean accommodations offered at Paradise Hills. They pride themselves in all the details and hard work involved in keeping the cabin rentals pristine. And, if you want luxury service in this country setting… they will come to your cabin, daily, and graciously make your bed, refresh your towels and take out your trash.
Landscaping & Vineyard assistant, Gary Schultz has spend the last several years tending to the 35 acres of Paradise Hills property. Rain or Shine, hot or cold…guests can see Gary mowing, chopping, hauling, burning and pruning. With the addition of the vineyards, Gary has played an important part in keeping healthy vines. Grateful for his loyalty and dedication, Paradise Hills wouldn’t be as beautiful without Gary’s attention to detail.
Gloria Reyes and her family team up every time Paradise Hills’ off-site cabin rentals have guests. Like a well-oiled machine, the Reyes team come in to clean & reset these larger cabins for the demands of the next guests. Take a look around, they have covered it all. Proud of their work, Paradise Hills can always rely on the Reyes family strong work ethic.
