Mountain roots and artistic culture are part of the Georgia reality. It seems there is always a festival or event to attend while you're here. This area is famous for its mountain music and exquisite folk art. If you check the local calendar, you can find everything from bluegrass festivals to gold panning competitions, fishing tourneys, art fairs, etc.. Local hospitality operators will be able to provide an up-to-date schedule of events, or you can find out more through the Blairsville/Union County Chamber of Commerce.

Butternut Creek Festival
July 2008
Location: Meeks Park
10th Annual Butternut Creek Festival, "The Finest Local Arts And Crafts Show Of The Summer" features 65 juried quality artists, artisans and craftsmen. In addition the Festival will have 6 demonstrating craftsmen and 5 exceptionally talented musical entertainers performing both days in the Meeks Park Gazebo. Meeks Park is on the south side of Hwy. 76/515. Festival parking and admission are FREE.

4th of July BBQ in Paradise

Come and join us for a BBQ to remember. Grilled marinated chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, pasta salad, chips, cake, watermelon, and water! That's what is on the menu. Tickets are $10 per person. Join the fun.
Also, horse shoes, and watermelon spitting contest.

Join us for the annual outdoor activities filled weekend for WOMAN ONLY> Your choice of activities in 3 sessions, there will be woman's self defense, fly fishing, marksmanship, outdoor cooking, plant identification, hiking, tubing, Map & Compass and team building on the Challenge Course with Zip Line.
Lunch & Dinner provided on Saturday. Cost $100 per participant. Lodging available at additional discounted cost.
